How to do Altered art

First, you need the base. I use postcards, pictures I find in charity shops (thrift stores) and old photographs.
Then you need a collection of a variety of pictures. I save cards, magazines, otherwise ruined story picture books again from charity shops or jumble sales.

The third stage is thinking outside the box. Look at the base, look at your pictures, change your mind about what the base picture is about. Free up your thinking to accept Something Different.

The top two are altered postcards. Click to see further details.

This is an altered photograph.

After it was sold I was amazed and thrilled to have this feedback from the buyer:
I can only sing the praises of Linda Caterpillar...her work is: eye-catching, entrancing, beckoning and beautiful. She takes the time and effort to make sure her customers are informed and pleased. All in all...a wonderful experience!
